Trident freight acquires four warehouses at Dubai Airport Free Zone
Dubai based Trident Freight, the International forwarding arm of Rais Hassan Saadi Group, has acquired 4 warehouses covering total area of 14,000 square feet in the Dubai Airport Free Zone. Trident already had its presence in the Dubai Airport Free Zone as a third party logistics operator, conducting the warehouse operations for a leading pharmaceutical company in DAFZA.
The new move is set to undoubtly generate more annual airfreight for the company and Trident is looking at tapping the huge opportunity for life science logistics and the movement of high value low volume goods using DAFZA as a hub.
Trident already has a logistics management centre in Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZ), two offices in Dubai and another in Abu Dhabi. Commenting on what prompted them to add DAFZA to their network of offices , the General Manager for Trident Freight states, "There is a growing market for logistics management of products such as pharmaceuticals that are highly temperature sensitive and high value low volume goods that are flown by airfreight. Being located within the vicinity of the Dubai International Airport, DAFZA now gives us the opportunity to tap into this market and expand our services in these sectors. Our ultimate mission is to provide third party logistics, as a real value added service to customers."
The warehouse space is currently ambient and can be used to store general goods. Keeping in mind the huge requirement for temperature-controlled warehouses in the region, plans for specialized temperature controlled zones are definitely in the pipeline.
Today customers demand additional value from any service provider. Having warehouse operations in different parts of the city gives us the flexibility to give our customers two different warehouse options either Jafz or Dafz.
